DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Build, repair, and maintain wooden structures including platforms, walkways, stairs, ramps, cribbing, barricades, and scaffolding.

·         Construct and repair concrete formwork for pads, foundations, and equipment bases.

·         Install and maintain doors, framing, siding, roofing, insulation, and other building components in mine-site facilities.

·         Perform accurate layout, measurement, cutting, and assembly of materials according to drawings or supervisor instructions.

·         Build and maintain safety barricades, guardrails, signage posts, and protective structures around active work zones.

·         Support construction and maintenance of surface infrastructure such as pump houses, ventilation housings, storage sheds, and temporary structures.

·         Provide custom carpentry solutions to assist mill, maintenance, and operations teams.

·         Follow all mine-site safety protocols, including lockout/tagout, PPE requirements, and hazard reporting.

·         Participate in daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and job hazard analyses (JHAs).

·         Inspect work areas and structures to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

·         Operate carpentry tools (saws, drills, nailers, planers, etc.) safely and effectively.

·         Operate equipment such as skid steers, telehandlers, or forklifts when certified.

·         Track material usage, maintain inventory, and ensure proper storage of lumber, fasteners, and tools.

·         Interpret blueprints, drawings, and verbal instructions to complete projects accurately.

·         Communicate progress, hazards, and material needs to supervisors and team members.

·         Assist with general mine-site tasks such as snow removal, cleanup, and seasonal maintenance.

·         Support shutdowns, construction projects, and emergency repairs as required.

·         Adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced industrial environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Red seal an asset

·         Experience necessary. 2+ years

·         Drivers license

·         Reliable transportation to and from work
