Alamos Gold’s Young-Davidson is a low-cost, long-life operation and one of Canada’s largest
underground gold mines. It is located near the town of Matachewan centrally located between
Timmins, Kirkland Lake, North Bay and Sudbury, Ontario. The recent completion of a highly
automated lower mine expansion has resulted in Young-Davidson increasing production as well as
strong free cash flow generation. With a large Mineral Reserve base, it will serve as Alamos’
foundation for growth for many years to come. This is a very exciting time at Young-Davidson, and

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the buyer is part of a small group of professional buyers
and purchasing support staff and is responsible for all aspects of strategic sourcing, negotiations,
contract management and administration.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Responsible for sourcing, acquiring and expediting delivery primarily of stock items and
repair services for mine site;
• Execute orders for supplies and services as required;
• Ensure continuous supply of required stock items while communicating any supply
problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations;
• Ensure competitive quotes are obtained as required;
• Resolve Accounts Payable and warehouse/shipping issues;
• Prepare monthly performance reports c/w gap analyses and other reports as required;
• Adhere to Company Procurement Policy & other related policies;
• Ensure suppliers adhere to Alamos’ purchase terms and conditions, contractual, etc.;
• Bid analysis and recommendations;
• Assist the supply chain team in the execution of Company objectives to improve operational
efficiency;
• Liaise with variety of departmental personnel; confirm specifications, required dates, etc.;
and
• Other duties, as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager, or equivalent.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:
• 3-5 years of related experience;
• Advanced computer skills required skillset for the success of this role;
• SAP experience is strongly preferred;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required; Inventory experience is considered an
asset ASCM certified (CPIM, CSCP) equivalent or correlated experience;

• ASCM/CPIM/CSCP enrollment or correlated experience;
• Accounting experience is considered an asset;
• Excellent organizational skills;
• Excellent communication skills, both orally and written with both internal and external
contacts and the ability to work with various levels of the organization;
• The ability to think logically and keep up with changes in technology;
• Self-starter who can anticipate needs and work independently with minimal supervision;
• Demonstrated ability to recognize and resolve problems, as required;
• Advanced numerical, analytical and administrative skills;
• Ability to adapt to a varying work environment often requiring the employee to develop new
and innovative work methods; and
• The incumbent will demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, a strong
commitment to working in a safe, socially responsible manner

Schedule: 8-hour Shifts on a 5/2 schedule, or 10-hour shifts on a 4/3 schedule
